Havenfront De Zuid nominated for Berlagevlag 2025

Area development De Zuid with the projects “Havenfront De Zuid”, the ZuidKade and ZuidHaven apartments opposite Mares, has been nominated for the Berlagevlag 2025. The Hague Architecture Award draws attention to successful projects that demonstrate that good architecture and urban planning add qualities to the city. On one side lies the rugged sea with its harbor and dunes, and on the other, a sheltered, green dune village. A fantastic location that further develops the city while preserving the diverse functions of the vibrant Scheveningen Harbor. These are the two sides of Havenfront De Zuid. The project, with 156 apartments and harbor-related businesses in the base, developed by MRP and VORM, was completed in two phases in collaboration with the municipality of The Hague.  LEVS architects, WE architects, ZECC Architects and landscape architect Copijn. Area development De Zuid comprises approximately 400 homes. From apartments to ground-level homes, surrounded by harbors, dunes, beach, and sea. The ZuidDuin, ZuidHaven, and ZuidKade sub-plans have already been realized. The subsequent phases, Mares, ZuidBaai, and ZuidHof, will complete the area development. De Zuid is located on the former Norfolk site, situated around the Third Harbor in the port of Scheveningen in The Hague.
