Toast moment with Mares buyers and residents in De Zuid
On Friday, July 4, a toast was raised to the prosperous area development of De Zuid in The Hague Scheveningen. This happened in the presence of Lisette Nijs, director area development and projects at the Municipality of The Hague, the project team of De Zuid, buyers of Mares and residents of the already completed subareas ZuidKade and ZuidHaven. The start of construction work on Mares, the completion of 89 homes in ZuidKade and the largely leased commercial units, which mainly house innovative maritime businesses, were highlighted.
The 4th subarea Mares in De Zuid is synonymous with being one with nature: the dunes, the beach and the sea and the urban life of The Hague. There will be 98 luxury apartments and high-end penthouses and, after the construction period, work will start on the two-story parking garage that will be built under the building. Bart Meijer, CEO MRP: "Literally all the good things come together in De Zuid. The free location on the dunes with the Westduinpark, the lively harbor at Scheveningen and the beach and the city in the backyard. With Mares, we have developed a building with an iconic appearance. It is a wonderful task for us to make this contribution to a more beautiful Dutch coast and add value to the international city of The Hague."

On the occasion of the various milestones, the Zuid C.V. (development combination MRP and VORM) was pleased to hand over a check for the training of 2 skippers at the KNRM Scheveningen, one of the 45 rescue stations in the Netherlands. The main mission and core task of KNRM is the 24/7 rescue of people and animals in distress at sea and on the wide inland waterways. This is done entirely free of charge thanks to the efforts of over 1500 professional volunteers and the voluntary contributions of committed donors and companies.
